Frequently Asked

Questions

Planning a vacation should be exciting, not overwhelming. Whether you're considering your first cruise, a luxury getaway, a river cruise through Europe, or a family vacation, these are some of the most common questions I receive. If you don't see your question here, I'd be happy to help.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I book through Danielle Burton Travel instead of booking online?

Booking online only shows you what's available. Working with an experienced travel advisor helps you choose the right vacation for your travel style, budget, and priorities. I also help with flights, hotels, transfers, travel insurance, excursions, dining reservations, and support before, during, and after your trip.

Is it more expensive to use a travel advisor?

No. In most cases, my services are included in the price of your vacation through the cruise line or travel supplier. You receive expert advice, personalized recommendations, and ongoing support at no additional cost for most bookings.

Do you charge planning fees?

For most cruise vacations and vacation packages, I do not charge a planning fee. If your itinerary requires extensive custom planning or involves complex independent travel, I will always discuss any applicable planning fees with you before work begins.

Which cruise line is best?

There isn't one cruise line that's best for everyone. The right cruise depends on your travel style, budget, preferred destinations, dining expectations, entertainment preferences, and cabin choices. I'll help you compare options to find the best fit for you.

What is the best cruise line for first-time cruisers?

Many first-time cruisers enjoy Royal Caribbean, Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Holland America Line. The best choice depends on whether you're looking for family activities, luxury, relaxation, entertainment, or destination-focused travel.

When is the best time to book a cruise?

The best time to book is often six to eighteen months before departure, especially if you want the best cabin selection, preferred dining times, and promotional offers. Popular sailings, suites, and Alaska cruises can sell out well in advance.

Can you help if I've already chosen my cruise?

Absolutely. If you've already found a cruise or vacation that interests you, I can review your options, explain cabin categories, discuss promotions, recommend excursions, and help ensure you've selected the best itinerary for your needs.

Do you only book cruises?

No. While cruising is one of my specialties, I also book all-inclusive resorts, Europe vacations, hotels, flights, rail travel, travel insurance, transfers, shore excursions, vacation packages, and custom itineraries.

Can you book flights too?

Yes. I can arrange flights that coordinate with your vacation and help organize hotels, airport transfers, transportation, and other travel services so your entire trip works together seamlessly.

Should I purchase travel insurance?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. It can help protect your investment if unexpected events affect your trip and may provide coverage for medical emergencies, trip cancellation, interruptions, delays, lost baggage, and more. I can help you choose the coverage that's appropriate for your vacation.

Can you help if something goes wrong during my trip?

Yes. One of the biggest advantages of working with a travel advisor is having someone in your corner. If issues arise before or during your vacation, I'll work with the travel supplier to help resolve problems as quickly as possible.

Every traveller is different, but some of the most popular destinations include:

  • Alaska

  • The Caribbean

  • Europe

  • Mediterranean cruises

  • River cruises

  • Hawaii

  • Mexico

  • Luxury cruise destinations worldwide

I'll recommend destinations based on your interests, travel style, and budget.
